Trees fit for Kings! King Chef Partners with PCEPSDI for Sustainability Efforts

King Chef sponsored almost 100 Molave trees under the Trees for Sustainability Programme (T4S) of the Philippine Center for Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development Inc. (PCEPSDI), as part of their commitment towards a sustainable future. King Chef announced the sponsorship during the grand opening of its newest branch at The Shops at Alphaland Makati Place on March 13, 2025.
King Chef Seafood Restaurant is home of Chinese cuisines with seven branches located in Baguio and Metro Manila. Established in 2010, this chinese seafood restaurant has been serving the locals with feasts fit for a king. Ms. Marites Apiado-Ang, owner of the King Chef, commenced the grand opening celebration through a ribbon cutting event.
PCEPSDI, on the other hand, expressed their appreciation to King Chef for their generous contribution during the short speech of Ms. Ericka Paculanan, Program Officer of T4S program. T4S is an annual tree planting – tree nourishing event of PCEPSDI and through the partnership of Municipality of Siniloan held a comeback in August 2024, planting 3,000 molave trees in Siniloan Forest Park. This coming August 2025, the T4S aims to plant 5,000 trees through several organizations and companies with sustainability commitments such as King Chef. The program is open for sponsorships and donations, encouraging individuals and companies to take part in environmental conservation efforts. Along with its tagline “Puno ang Solusyon”, the tree planting-nourishing activity aims to combat impacts of climate change and encourage everyone to join and make change through the simple act of planting.
As a seal this partnership, PCEPSDI’s President and Executive Director, Mr. June Alvarez, along with Ms. Ericka Paculanan, awarded a certificate of partnership and token to Ms. Marites Apiado-Ang. This recognition marks King Chef’s role in championing environmental consciousness and responsibility within the food sector. Aside from the tree planting, PCEPSDI and King Chef discussed additional opportunities for collaboration, such as capacity-building programs and training on sustainability initiatives. By engaging in these activities, King Chef continues to demonstrate its dedication to environmental stewardship while inspiring other businesses to take meaningful action toward sustainability.
King Chef and PCEPSDI’s partnership is a big step towards a greener future. This serves as an inspiration for other businesses to step up and invest for more sustainable practices.
